Mission Statement
Teaching Dreamers to Create F.I.L.M.S. (Focused Inspirational Leaders of Marketing, Movies, and Storytelling)
Film and Marketing, Since 2017
It has always been our purpose at The Institute of F.I.L.M.S., to
create courses using technology to teach digital film and visual
communication. We use a highly qualified staff to provide the
necessary skillset and maintains those professionals who are
dedicated to teaching and maintaining the programs in the
best professional manner possible while elevating our students
to achieve their maximum potential.
Founded in 2017 and operated first as a non-profit film production company by Dr. David Penn, an Emmy-Award winning, Harvard and UCLA educated producer, Dr. Penn is our Executive
Producer and President. Our first effort back then
was writing, co-directing, and co-producing a film that inspired
many children to be adopted and was qualified as one of the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences films of 2018. We
have been focused, inspiring, leading movies, marketing, and
storytelling (F.I.L.M.S.) from the start.
Today, we continue to direct, produce, and teach others to
create and present stories that inspire. Together, we bring you
an education focused on FILM and MARKETING so you can
create stories that move people and organizations, preparing
you for a true career pursuing your passion, FILM.

The Institute of F.I.L.M.S. isn’t another higher place of learning. It
is an educational beacon to those that want more out of their
education than a degree or diploma. Industry professionals
with years of experience don’t just teach, they inspire you to
become the best version of yourself. Creating short films during
your education, a full commercial demo marketing launch of a
product or service for an existing organization and a FEATURE
LENGTH film as a class collaboration.

Our diploma program in Digital Film and Visual Communication provides an expedited pathway to get you directly to work. Film and marketing combine to curate your skillset to translate directly into the workforce. The Associate Degree Program in Digital Film and Visual Communication allows you to collect the same expertise as the Diploma Program, with some general education credits that you may transfer in or take to graduate.
